I Can't Believe It's Not More Popular!

Orphan Black is the newest sci-fi show on BBC America.  It has to be the greatest thing since Doctor Who and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

Now before you go shouting "BLASPHEMY!", take time to think about the latest episodes and season of the two prior shows. While I had high hopes for the Doctor's new companion, Clara, she doesn't quite measure up. Maybe my hopes were too high. With all of the changes happening in season 4 of MLP, come on, don't tell me you're not upset about them too.

So when BBC advertised for this new show, I was intrigued. I saw the teaser trailer and my first reaction wasn't much. I saw a bunch of different girls monologging. They were telling me their names that I didn't care to hear or memorize them. What really caught my attention was at the end, they were like, "So when did 'I' become 'us'?" That's what got my attention. So in commercials between Doctor Who, I actually listened when it came on. It kind of confused me then. I wasn't sure if they had multiple personality disorder of if the situation of 'I'm her when I'm dreaming, but I'm me when I'm awake' kind of deal was going on.*

If I'm being completely honest, I saw the first episode by accident. It comes on right after Doctor Who.** It was the most awesome accident ever! Immediately after the first episode I couldn't wait to watch the second. There's conspiracies, clones, and as was so kindly pointed out in the commercial breaks, the deeper question of who I am as a person.

You can imagine my excitement when my youngest sister took an interest in it.*** I stayed up with her to watch all three aired episodes and was happy to answer any questions she had. I'm one of those people that watches and re-watches episodes. I do extensive research on shows and cartoons making myself a self-proclaimed expert on the subject. So when searched "orphan black" I expected to find fan art, blogs, and fanfiction galore. I was immensely disappointed when I found out otherwise. Maybe it's too soon? I don't know, but I feel the need to correct this problem. Thus the happening of this post. Be expecting fanfiction from me.****

What was your take on the new show? Have you even heard of it before this? Comment plz! Comments are good for me. nom nom nom nom!

*Like how the book Lucid is, but I haven't really read the book yet... it's still sitting on my shelf.
** That was good timing on the producer's part. :)
*** If you know anything about our relationship, you know that we really have absolutely NOTHING in common.
**** Not soon, because I have life, y'know? But definitely happening.
